Paderborn (nw). Ten of the best academic institutions of the United Kingdom will be gathered in the British Boarding Schools Fair on Saturday, September 29th, at the Paderborn Schützenhof. The free event, which is presented by the Paderborn am Sonntag, is a fun-filled afternoon that has a very special purpose.
British parents and their children are invited to talk directly to represantatives of the schools and get the information they need for the important decision regarding their children’s future.
British serving soldiers and their families have been provided with a unique opportunity by the Army that allows for financial assistance so that even while they are posted overseas, they can afford to send their children to the best schools. But with the schools in the UK and the families posted here, it is difficult for parents to truly talk with the schools and initiate comprehensive enquiry. In this event, the PBamS hopes to connect the army families to the schools, so that they can ask the important questions, connect with the school administrators and teachers and make informed decisions regarding the future of their children.
"Get a great academic foundation"
"In these handpicked schools, your children can study and gain all those important qualifications, get a great academic foundation, gain friends and also have lots of fun", says PBamS-editor-in-chief Stefan Beyhoff. He continues, "whatever you want your children to be in the future – an astronaut, a soldier, an actor, a politician, a scientist, a successful manager – all of that can happen when they are provided with an excellent academic and social learning foundation." Usually, children and their parents would have to fly over to the UK to meet with the schools to have their questions answered.
Thanks to the Paderborn am Sonntag and the office of the city of Paderborn all this can be done in one afternoon in one location: From 10am to 6pm the ten schools will present themselves in the Schützenhof and their represantatives will answer all questions that come up facing this decision.
Questions that the boys and girls would like to have answered about the school help them decide if the school is good for them, and questions that the parents ask are basically meant to ensure that the school is safe, secure and the right fit for their children, their budget and the needs of their family.
All of the schools – which rank among UK‘s top schools – also honor and utilise all the benefits provided to Army families (i.e. the Continuity of Education Allowance) making boarding schools well-within their financial range.
There will be fun booths
Stefan Beyhoff invites all British families: "Do come and spend a morning, an afternoon or all day with us. There will be fun booths provided by Starfire Entertainment – clowns, face-painting and bouncy castles in the green grounds of the Schützenhof are just among the many you can enjoy. Additionally, you and your family can win fantastic prizes at the tombola including the possibility of winning a Bavarian holiday!"
The event is also open to the Paderborn community. Education in British boarding schools is held in high repute and such an opportunity is something that many German families would not want to miss.
The British Boarding Schools Fair takes place on Saturday September 29th, in the Schützenhof from 10am to 6pm.
